ALGBTICAL is pleased to announce its 6th Annual Winter Workshop on Friday, February 10, 2012. The program will run from 9:30 AM until 3:30 PM. The event will take place at the Homewood Public Library, 1721 Oxmoor Road, Homewood, Alabama 35209, in the Birmingham area.
The Winter Workshop
theme is: "Making Change Happen."
ALMHCA (Alabama Mental Health Counselors Association) is partnering with ALGBTICAL in sponsoring this event.
The workshop will feature keynote speaker Dr. Quinn Pearson, presenting her perspectives on Advocacy in Counseling and Counselor Ethics And Responsibilities.
Also featured will be Mr. Joshua Burford, presenting information on Reasons for Advocacy, Addressing Queer Youth Issues, School and College Issues, Student Outreach and Engagement, and Allies Support and Participation.
A Panel Discussion of LGBT Advocates will also be included.
And Information Tables featuring LGBT Organizations, Vendors and Resources will be included.
5 CEUs available.
One of the 5 CEUs will count toward the ethics requirement for LPC's & ALC's.
