AGLBICAL RESEARCH GRANT OPPORTUNITIES
AGLBICAL Offers Awards Up To $500

Deadline: September 15, 2007
 

The AGLBICAL Board announces a research grant program for the purpose of promoting research that investigates gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender issues of individuals and their families.  Research must support the mission of AGLBICAL.  AGLBICAL seeks to promote greater awareness and understanding of sexual minority issues among members of the counseling profession, related helping occupations, their clients, and the community.


The grant(s) totaling up to $500 will be awarded at the ALCA Annual Conference in November at the annual AGLBICAL reception. Grant recipients must present a copy of the final written manuscript to AGLBICAL for possible publication in the Alabama Counseling Association Journal.  Recipients may also be asked to present their research at the ALCA Annual Conference.

 

Proposal format will include:

 

Narrative (maximum of 5 • double spaced pages, including references) with the following sections:

- Introduction: Project history and salient research in the area.

- Objectives: Specific goals and/or objectives of the research.

- Significance: Justification or importance of the project.

- Methods: Describe the subjects, instruments, procedure and data analysis.

 

Applicant(s) Information (on separate sheet): Your name and title, address, telephone numbers, and e-mail address.

Budget Explanation and Justification: Detailed explanation of the financial needs to conduct the project. Brief justification of items listed, not to exceed 2 pages.

Appendix, including: 2 Letters of Support: from colleagues, professors, or supervisors addressing your research skills.

Brief Vitae: Indicating your specific research agenda. Factors that enhance the proposal are a clear research question; adequate background and importance of the problem; clarity, care and conciseness in writing; and a detailed and justified budget.
